Spring Has Sprung

Spring has sprung! Well not officially, but the last few days sure have felt like it. And to be honest, while I’m all for this weather, I can put off Spring a little longer so I don’t have to deal with allergies. Walking outside and seeing my car covered in a fine yellow powder feels like a death sentence for me.

We’ve had beautiful weather that is perfect for literally any type of clothing, jeans, pants, shorts, sweaters, tees, one can easily mix and match to feel very comfortable while out and about. J. Crew has some released some cute clothes and there are a few things I have my eye on. I decided to create an outfit with new items that I’d love to be wearing on a Saturday around town with my boys (John, Wallace, and Otis). I hope everyone else is having weather as nice as us. Happy Hump Day!

Red + Gray

We are currently snowed in, which isn’t too bad because I can hang out in sweatpants all day. However being stuck indoors can create other issues like pigging out on junk food and cabin fever. In an effort to fight boredom I was going through my closet and I came up with a what I’d be wearing if I weren’t pregnant outfit. Don’t get me wrong, I am enjoying being pregnant, except for the swelling and struggle of finding maternity clothes I really like, but at the same time I can’t wait for Wallace to get here so we can finally meet him. To those of you fighting the snow, please be safe and enjoy your time indoors. 🙂

Maternity Wear

One thing  I have struggled with since becoming pregnant is finding maternity that I actually like. I’ve always been picky when it comes to my clothes, so it’s really no surprise I’m picky when it comes to my maternity clothes as well.  After countless hours of shopping I finally decided the best thing to do is just buy a maternity item or two as I find them and deem them worthy of my closet. I have a few tops, sweaters, pants, and dresses that will get me through two weeks no problem. I’m constantly on the hunt for a few more items, particularly pants, but I’m really in no rush. I know as my bump continues to grow I may have to alter what I’m looking for. Plus I’ll be pregnant through winter and early spring so I may be adding more spring dresses later in my pregnancy. Below are a few of my favorite items I own and a few that I’m thinking about purchasing. If you have any  recommendations on maternity pants, not jeans, I’d love to hear them. I can only seem to find cropped pants, which I don’t like, or pants made from fabric that feels really cheap.

Row 2 Left to Right: Black lace dress / Black dress / Gray Henley dress / Gray dress with trim / Red pants / pants

I own the black lace dress, green top, pink and navy topred pants and plaid top and LOVE them. all are easy to wear and care for and are high quality. The fabric feels great. I also just ordered this top and these jeans. I’m counting down the days until they come because I can’t wait to try them out.

Kate Middleton’s Military Look For Less by Banana Republic!

I love almost everything Kate Middleton wears, but personally I cannot currently afford the pieces she wears. Luckily, Kate is very down to earth and many of her pricier items are available in similar styles and for less; the beauty of clean simply lines and shapes. I wanted to try and recreate a military outfit she has worn twice (no kidding exact same outfit even down to the shoes); this is what I came up with. Thoughts?

Booties, Booties, Rockin’ Everywhere

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love Fall and I love Fall clothing. This year I am on a quest to find the perfect pair of booties. I don’t own any and it’s because I’ve never found THE pair. This year I am determined to buy a pair. I’m super picky about shoes and I have a small foot, both of which make for tough shoe shopping. I’m sure it’s why I don’t actually own that many pairs of shoes. Below are a few booties that have made it onto my maybe list. What do you think? Are any of these a yes? I’m open to suggestions! Thanks and have a great Friday!
